How many Canadians owns a snowblower instead of using?
a shovel only ? Those things are expensive.. I have one though.. kind of curious.. Have noticed that people who have snowblowers are more than likely too to help their neighbours get rid of the snow. A thought..

- We only have shovels. We have a single older lady next door and we do hers as well. I would think that more people with snowblowers help out neighbours because it's so much easier with a blower. However, I like the exercise.
- What is a shovel?? Just kidding. I have never owned a snow blower and have only ever used a shovel until recently when I moved into an apartment where someone else has the worry and they use the snow blower.
- no snowblower here.. I have a 100 ft driveway.. a neighbour usually does mine, we live way out in the country - no sidewalks...
- I hate those things! a) because i'm jealous of my neighbor cuz I only have a shovel and b) They're LOUD and they wake me up. They (my neighbors) actually do offer to do mine as well, but I can't let them! It still looks like a pain for them. And shovelling is a tradition!
- We use a snow blower and a shovel! And yes the snow blowers can be expensive, but they are a whole lot cheaper now then they were about 10 years ago. The snow blower is more practical for the driveway then a shovel, as we have a 4 car driveway and it would take forever to shovel. My husband also does the sidewalks in front of all the neighbours for the whole block and the back alley(so we don't get stuck when the putz a few houses down shovels/snow blows all his snow into the alley) My son for a few years was using the snow blower to make some money, was a pretty good little business for him, as well as he did lawns in the summer. Myself personally I use the shovel, I do not like the smell or the noise! And I need the exercise that I get from shoveling. BTW I live in Prince Albert Saskatchewan and pretty much every 2nd house in my neighbourhood has one! It's seriously a race to clean the sidewalk in front of all the houses before someone else does. It's a game only a snow blower would understand
- They are rare in Calgary. People that like toys buy them but they are not really practical for the amount of snow we get.
- We own both. The driveway is on a hill and over 75 ft long, so we use the snowblower for that. For the sidewalks and dog trails we use a shovel. I use the term "we" loosely. When I say we, I really mean my husband!
- I have a HUGE shovel! My driveway is quite long and as I live in Northern Ontario, we can get a fair amount of snow, but I'm stubborn and cheap. I don't want to pay that much for a snowblower. I have an awesome neighbour with a plow on his truck though, for when the snow is just too deep, or its too cold out. I like shoveling. Tis good exercise.
- That's what my son gived to me for Christmas last year but never used it cause there's not much snow in the ground. This year will be a different story and I am ready for it..
