I have Carrier Electric Furnace and w/no warning it just stopped.?
IT DOESN'T BLOW OUT HEAT OR AIR. I've read a few troubleshooting tips and it suggest changing the filter and checking the wiring (which I've done). It still doesn't do anything. When I switch it on/off I can hear something but it's certainly not a blower or fan. PLEASE HELP!!!!!! - IT JUST STOP SNOWING (ABOUT 1 FOOT) and I can't afford to call a service tech. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

- Did you check the pilot light?
- Try turning the fan to the on position, see if puts out any air. If it does not i would go to service panel located on the side of the unit remove it and look for tripped circuit breakers or over loads in the control panel. If all of this seems to be okay remove the panels so you can see the blower motor and fan some units have belts that drive the blower, if not then get some one to turn the unit on high heat(place fan switch on auto flip to heating and turn thermostat all the way up) Watch and listen see if the fan tries to move a little in one direction or the other. If it does take a screw driver and spin the fan in that direction. Might have to try this a couple times to get it to work. Need to start the spin at the same time it is trying to move. If this works and the blower starts running replace covers and place fan switch to "on" so that it doesn't cut off until you can repair the unit. The problem will be the start capacitor has gone bad on you blower motor, it will look kinda like a battery had two terminals on top of it. If it has three terminals on it you have a combination capacitor that starts you compressor and blower. These are relatively cheap and can be purchased on-line at Grainger.com. P.S. I had this exact same problem back in the summer and it was my blower capacitor
- Are there any other symptoms that you can describe i.e. noises coming from the unit itself are you sure the circuit breaker is not tripped or fuses blown.
