I can"t get my snow blower to start. I have an electric start. I cleaned the carb. & put new gas/oil in tank.?
I took the carburetor bowl apart and cleaned it with carb gum cleaner and replaced the float. It turns over but does not ignite the gas.

- are you getting a spark at the spark plug? is the spark plug gap correct? should be about .030 maybe points and condenser under the fly wheel? is the key in the fly wheel to keep the timing correct? is gas getting into the cylinder? remove the air filter and try dribbling a little gas in the carb and crank it. do you have a primer bulb? do you hear gas being pumped in as you press the primer bulb.
- Remove and clean sparkplug. I`ve used coleman lantern fuel (add one tablespoon) to gas tank, this is high test fuel. This is not really recomended, as it can be hard on internal parts, but it works to get my old chainsaw going! This also works for stale gas in spring, in my lawn mower.
- What a pain. I skipped last winter, and when I got going this winter mine wouldn't start. I'd play with the run speed, the choke, the primer, and finally gave up. I went out a day later, and it started right up.
- Put a little gas into the sparkplug hole and start it up. If it starts and dies right away you will most likely need to clean the carburetor. If it runs your in business and can start praying for some snow.
- Check your spark plug, it might be dirty. You can also replace it when needed. Have you already tried to push the snow blower?
