how do snowblowers work?
Public Comments
- a motor(usually gas) turns a shaft fitted with tines that break the snow apart and accelerate it up a shoot (same principle as a lawnmower shooting grass out the side) the power of the motor determine how deep it can eat and how far it can throw
- there are basically two types,a stage one where the auger spins quickly with and auger where the edges are rubber, this pulls the machine while you push, the fast moving auger throws the snow up the chute and out, good for light snowfalls up to 6 or 7 inches, with a stage two, the machine is self-propelled and a slow moving auger pulls the snow into a fast moving fan type device that shoots the snow out, good for any type snowfall,as always be safe, always turn off the machine before unclogging shute.best of luck
