Commercial Snow Blowers

What is the best type of motor oil for snowblowers?

  1. Chevron Delo. Desinged for diesel engines, but works great in yard machines- I have a lawnmower that is nearly 20 yrs old on that oil.
  2. straight 30 weight motor oil
  3. I suggest consulting the manufacturer. I would ask if its all right to use full synthetic oil. I know for a fact that my pick up truck is quicker having switched to it.
  4. The type the owners manual lists...others may void the warranty
  5. most small engines require straight 30 weight
  6. That depends on the make of the engine, (Briggs & Stratton? Tecumseh?) If it's still under warranty, consider using the OEM specific to brand of engine. If it's out of warranty or close to it, I heartily recommend Valvoline or Chevron Delo. (The #1 & #2 brands on the market, hands-down) Regardless of what brand you go with, make sure you use the correct viscosity & preferably the same API/SAE rating.
