Are Ariens Snowblowers from HomeDepot not the real deal?

I went to a small power shop today who sells Ariens, Toro, and Husky snowblowers. They said the Ariens they carry are better quality than the ones that are made for Home Depot. Something about the specs being different. Is this true?

1. Generally yes, big box stores get the "lower" grade of an item. WalMart is horrible about this. The manufacturer will sell large amounts to these stores at a reduced cost, but include some that did not pass the tougher tests
